Recovery From Tubal Ligation at Home After Discharge from Hospital
During the recovery phase, the doctor may leave you home when you are stabilized. The doctor may give you instructions for taking care of yourself after the surgery and he/she may give you specific guidelines regarding the medications and about other activities like driving. Here are some things that you need to keep in mind during the recovery period:
- During your tubal ligation recovery period, you need to observe for signs and symptoms like fever and an increased pain in the abdomen.
- Some other patients may also have pain in the shoulder, which is a side effect that occurs as a result of the carbon dioxide gas present in the abdomen.
- Try to lie down or kneel with the chest down as it relieves the discomfort.
- You may also feel tired and may want to rest however, you may be able to get up and move about.
- It may take around one to three days for you to be able to work,but see that you do not participate in any strenuous exercises until you recover from tubal ligation completely.
You need to meet your doctor for a follow up visit after the laparoscopic surgery to avoid complications and have a healthy recovery after undergoing tubal ligation.
