Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a vaginal condition that produces vaginal discharge from an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. Bvis not a dangerous condition like chlamydia and gonorrhea. It can mimic trichomoniasis and yeast infections as well. Though the signs are similar, but they are quite different. You need not worry if you have been diagnosed with BV because there are many natural cures for bacterial vaginosis. BV occurs in approximately 29% of women in the United States of America. BV is found in 16% of the pregnant women in America. This is also believed to be a kind of sexually transmitted disease i.e. STD. Read onto know some of the natural cures for bacterial vaginosis.

Here are some of the effective natural remedies for BV:

  • Grapefruit Extract: This is the simplest BV cures. All you need to so is to mix ten drops of this extract in one glass of water. Stir this mixture and apply it on your vagina using a soft cloth gently. Do not apply the extracts directly on the vagina. Dilute it and then only apply.
  • Lactobacillus Reuteri: To fight these bad bacteria, you need to introduce the healthy bacteria i.e. Lactobacillus Reuteri. In addition to this treatment, you can consume one cup of yogurt daily. You can even apply yoghurt to the vagina every second day. Yoghurt made from the goat’s milk is found to be very effective. This treatment helps in restoring the vaginal pH and provides immense relief from vaginal itching. Soak a tampon in yogurt and insert it into the vagina for quick relief.
  • Tea tree Oil: This oil has excellent antibacterial properties. All you need to do is to add 12 drops to warm water used for bath. This kills the bacteria present in the vagina. You can also use tea tree oil pessaries alternatively, which is more effective.
  • Colloidal Silver: This is another natural solution that can be used in three ways i.e. as a douche, as a supplement, and as an insertion. Soak a tampon in this solution and place it in the vagina as it gives you relief from itching and the discharges as well.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: This is another effective remedy for curing BV. Apple cider vinegar can be added into your hot bath water. This can be used for washing your vagina. You can even add this apple cider vinegar in your bathtub and soak yourself in this water for sometime. This solution acts by neutralizing the fishy odor caused by BV infection.
  • Cranberry Juice: Consume pure cranberry juice, which is found to eradicate the infection completely.

During pregnancy, nausea is the most common problem that every women face and what we call as morning sickness. Foe some women, it strikes throughout the day and in most of the cases morning sickness occurs between the fourth and sixth weeks of pregnancy. But, there are many pregnancy nausea cures that you can follow to relieve yourself from nausea.

Many of the pregnant women suffer from nausea during pregnancy but, there are some natural cures for pregnancy nausea. Some of them are:

  • Vitamin B6 has proved to help those mothers with severe nausea. So, if this vitamin is taken daily then it surely will reduce the sensation of nausea.
  • Try to sleep well during the nights.
  • Tiredness plays a major role so, try to take rest during the day.
  • Try to avoid warm places as they tend to increase nausea.
  • In the mornings, try to get out of the bed slowly.
  • Eat dry cereal or plain crackers before you are out of the bed in the morning.
  • Turn on the exhaust fans or open the windows when cooking.
  • Try to cook food in a microwave as they produce less odor because smell is another factor for nausea.
  • Ginger has been linked to alleviating the symptoms of nausea effectively. So, you can chew a crystallized ginger or by sucking hard candies made of ginger
  • You could also carry a handkerchief with few drops of essential oils like lemon and breathe through it to reduce the smell that is causing nausea.
  • Avoid the intake of spicy or greasy foods as they can cause heartburn and nausea.
  • Eat what you want to at any time because your cravings cannot lead you the wrong way.
  • Eat small and frequent meals for every two hours.
  • Never drink water along with meals.
  • You can snack on protein snacks like nuts, beans, eggs and low fat meat are high in proteins.
  • Peppermint and ginger teas that are non caffeinated can reduce nausea.
  • Never skip your meals.
  • To avoid dehydration, drink small amounts of water or any fluids throughout the day.
  • Avoid the intake of fried or spicy foods.
  • Take the prescribed prenatal vitamins in the later part of the day.

Even after taking the above precautions, if the nausea feeling is strong then you need to consult a doctor. Your doctor will be able to evaluate your condition and decide on which medication can be taken to cure pregnancy nausea.
